So this afternoon while walking the dog i noticed a maple that was putting out new leaves like they do in the spring. It was on a maple that had lost a lot of leaves in August.

Yeah, would be hard for people who make a lot of money to agree to something like that, and would probably completely rework how income taxes work.

What if, like we have a minimum wage, we had a maximum wage also. We couldn't increase the maximum wage without also increasing the minimum wage the same amount.

I think we need to start a "F$CK CARNEY" movement. My benefit of the doubt has worn out.

I would recommend. Simple, quiet and they work well. When we had a corded electric mower I was constantly paranoid of running over the cord. I would never choose a gas powered mower, or really any gas powered yard tool again if I can help it. Gas motors are such a pita to deal with.

We got them a few years ago and paid the whole amount ourselves. It cut our heating bill in half. Used to heat with electric baseboard heating, which accounted for about 70% of our electricity bill in the winter months.

Anything about heat pump purchase/install financial assistance? Cause to me this just sounds like another way to funnel public tax money into oil and gas industry profits.

There is a helicopter, that has been flying around at least since about 1pm. It goes by like every 10-15 minutes. Listening to the noise it makes, is getting real old.

It is crazy that this is needed, they should just do it cause they committed to it and it is the right thing to do. Hope it helps a little.

I submitted one comment on the protected areas in general, basically saying protect as much as you can as soon as you can. I didn't give any comments on specific areas. Mentioning the numbers you quoted and how only 5% by mass of mammals are wild with the other 95% being humans and live stock.

I guess when you drive everywhere for everything you forget how legs work.

Chris Geroux @cgeroux.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
My son suggested something similar. Large concrete walls that stop cars come up when you press a button. That's how his lego men do it, he tells me.

It probably isn't even that they don't want a street party...it is probably they are busy working thier 4th job.

Chris Geroux @cgeroux.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Sounds veey similar to having a street party. Need signatures of 100% of every adress on the affect street. Often there are a few you just can't get a hold of no matter how many times you knock their door, or leave notes etc.

I watched my Dad work hard all his life. Before he retired he had been working for Ron Joyce doing maintenance at Fox Harbor golf resort. That rich prick treated his employees like shit. It is about luck and who you know, hard work doesn't account for much.

I have heard a related argument from game programmers. If the point, for the game programmer, is to program the game because they enjoy the process, using a.i. to do the task for you removes the whole point of creating the game in the first place. It is about the journey not the destination.

To Donald, AI might appear to be super, but to a person with a normal cognitive level, AI is pretty stupid at a lot of things.

I was driving a car, going maybe 80 in a 90 zone, and I got passed like that. I kind of assume that kind of thing when a driver encounters a bike, assuming they have no clue that they could slow and wait. But apparently it happens even if you are 10 under the speed limit also. Crazy.

By weight and sometimes by volume, the largest contributor to our bi-weekly garbage is dog poop and that is after we try to get most poop bags to the bins in the park. I really wish there was a better way to dispose of it.

They have also threatened to remove AT infrastructure that HRM might build. This has caused the build out AT infrastructure to slow. This infrastructure helps reduce congestion by making more space efficient modes safer.

In fact, to solve the problem, I did something illegal. I rode on the sidewalk to push the pedestrian button. So if I wanted to follow the rules of the road to the letter, I might be still sitting there waiting.

I just noticed tonight, at least at about 8:30pm, that the Almon St. intersection with Connaught coming down the hill, is using detection again to skip lights in the Almon St. and it still doesn't' detect bikes. Want to cause a disruption while being perfectly legal?

Traffic congestion, all the cool cities are doing it. If you don't have it are you really a big city?

On the one hand we do need to be careful and prevent disasters, on the other we need to get of FF ASAP. Those that want to stop or slow the transition are going to use incidents like this to do just that.

I know with ebike batteries a big part of the issue is with quality. Many of the batteries causing the fires weren't certified, so better regulations and requirements for manufacturing regulations would make a big difference in that situation.

Government seems to listen if you blockade streets with you 18 wheelers though. Maybe their trucks weren't big enough.

Now imagine, you are on a bike, beside your 8yo on a bike, just trying to get home. The bike lane you were in just ended because a few years ago someone said their birthday party guests would have no where to park if they built it. You will see an awful side of people.

Chris Geroux @cgeroux.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Something really doesn't seem right about that. Like the people who are being mistreated are no longer allowed to decide if they should go on strike or not?

I honestly don't know what is wrong with some people. Best guess, their parents didn't give them any love.

Chris Geroux @cgeroux.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Yeah...I can relate to that....I driver recently yelled at my for riding beside my 8yo son on the road and holding up traffic on almon st. Even if I was by myself there wouldn't have been enough space to pass with the parked cars...my brain spun on that for hours afterwards.
