The internal politics of 'exclusion' (expulsion) inside British local education authorities reflect this reality. One of the reasons my class year at Parrswood, which is a big Manchester comprehensive, had unusually good results was that our headteacher was pretty ruthless about exclusion.

’Y’all’ in the performative should be written without the apostrophe so we know.

’Wonk’ might be a perfect AI name were it not so similar to ’Grok’.

If you’re at one dose it should be easy, and I recommend it.

I will not say a sarcastic thing that will make people yell at me. I will not insert myself into disputes uninvited. I will not lecture people who do not want to listen. I will not exacerbate the anger and anxiety of others. I will write this down to hold myself to it. Then I will get dinner.

I’d be bitter were it impossible.

It sometimes says ‘([adj] proverb)’, calls everything Biblical a proverb, and has too few items, but it’s worth playing for a spell.

Square buttons don’t impose a grid. They could be staggered, and resized and/or respaced as needed.

Top right, and a color for the Eurosky button would be nice.

When i signed up for Claude and it asked for my name, I put in "Human" So now it always addresses me as "Human" instead of by my name Small thing but I think it helps psychologically remind me that it is a robot talking to me

I think of Bluesky as the lepidopteran app, though it ought to go bat for Halloween.

People will speak and write like that to bots, then to one another.

Just realized that boro and kantha — the Japanese and Indian techniques for repairing cloth or creating new material from scraps by connecting them through a series of running stitches — looks a bit like the peeling bark on an aging tree.

If you have a pet that sometimes snags your clothes, or if you're clumsy like me, I've found Dritz Snag Nab It to be very useful. It's a needle with rough grooves on the tail end. Push the needle through the cloth and it'll pull the snag to the fabric's underside, where it will be hidden.

A green plaid flannel shirt with two snags on the face side of the fabric. There's a Snag Nab It needle next to the snag.

The same flannel shirt, but the snags have disappeared.

A photo of the underside of the cloth. The snag is now on the underside.

Had a close call visiting a local establishment's website yesterday. A CloudFlare dialogue came up, and after clicking to confirm that 'I was not a robot', it prompted me to: * Press Windows+R (opening a run command window * Paste something from my keyboard and press enter Don't ever do this.

A scam CloudFlare box stating "Additional Verification Required", and then providing instructions that install malware on your computer.

"The telegraph, now, has made even our letters telegraphic, and we imagine the multiplication of occasions for writing to have acted on people's minds as it has done on their handwriting, and rendered them dashy and scrappy and indistinct." -- Henry James, 1874
