Sitting in a coffee shop in St. Louis (here for a wedding), and the man never to me is trying to explain barbeque to his ~3 y.o. daughter. It's very charming. "Ribs are like bacon, but bigger." Had to clamp down my facial muscles real fast to stop the involuntary laugh.

Which I think MIGHT be the angle the WSJ is going for, if I were to assume a charitable interpretation.

There are some interesting repercussions around affordable housing and how it's tied to median income; even if the high-level average rent growth is slowing, the increase in median income from all the transplanted high earners, will make the "affordable" rent rates continue to grow quickly.

The article is worded real weird, though.

It's a cyclical thing, so developers and investors will want to keep abreast of what stages of the cycle each market is in. (I'm not pro-landlord or anything! I just have experience in the affordable housing field.)

It's somewhat of a legitimate story in that, as rent growth slows in a metro area, developers stop building. When they stop building, you get fewer new homes than new households, which squeezes occupancy. Tighter occupancy makes for accelerated rent growth, and then on in the reverse order.

you should have seen me a couple of years ago! [ #Art #FurryArt ]

A drawing of a crying blue dog running across blue-green hills, with a red collar on. There's a fence and some bushes in the foreground, and a red sun in the yellow-green sky behind it. There's a thought bubble above the dog's head that says, "at least i'm not as sad as i used to be", which is a lyric from and the title of a song by the band fun.

Office politics, man. I thought I could navigate them, but I think there's some sort of quote about some kind of game where either you win or you die and that's definitely what happened here.

Obviously none of those things on their own or even combined will magically fix everything, but they still can provide some relief from the symptoms.

I think one important thing to remember is that, whether the causes of anxiety are external or internal, a majority of the effects/symptoms of anxiety are physical, and thus can be helped physically either way. Breathing exercises, stretching/yoga, physical activity, sleep, etc can all help.

I forgot you posted this last year and came in to say "kiss under every berry" only to find I already said it last year. Good to know I'm maintaining an coherent internal narrative still.

Screenshot of the same save file as before but with new completion percentage and game time. Completion Percentage: 100% Game Time: 50H 39M

Finished Skong. What a game. Team Cherry could have stopped making it like three years ago and it would have been an overly full Metroidvania, but this was something even more than that. Maybe a little too much? I don't think I have it in me to get the last 1% at this point.
