A lot of rich guys want you to think that the bar on the right is always going to be bigger than the bar on the left.
Vertical bar chart titled "Norwegian wealth tax revenue, change from 2021 to 2024," in billions of Norwegian kroner (BNOK), nominal. Subtitle: top rate 0.85% to 1.1% and stock valuation discount cut from 2022.

Two bars. "Growth with no emigration": 13.71 BNOK, a tall bar. "Lost to reform-driven emigration": 0.65 BNOK, a barely visible stub, about one-twenty-first the height.

Notes: Growth includes the rate and valuation changes and wealth growth. Net of tax that emigrants still paid, the reform-driven loss is 0.49 BNOK.

@victoria.ca hi Gang, there's some chatter about the use of advanced pedestrian lights while on a bike. I had thought I heard any active transit was to observe these to get our uncaged selves out in front to be more easily seen, some say bikes wait to car light to change. What the correct way?

Standing up to big oil? OK, put our money where your mouth is: tax fossil fuel companies to recover the tax money you're cutting at the pump. Make THEM pay for it with their huge profits. That tax revenue is needed to pay for social services, so make the fossil fuel companies pay it.

Here is a 12th idea... how about a wealth tax? Plenty of these options are giveaways to the industries the CEOs and business leaders work for. None of them get after the core problem: Our tax code is a major driver of our inequality. We need to tax the rich.
