Decor that is bland, gray, and completely stripped away of any nostalgic, cheerful character of older locations. As soon as you walk in, you can't wait to leave, and I genuinely believe it's by design now. Everything about McDonald's can be summed up in one word: Hostile.

There's no friendly open kitchen anymore- just a big dark wall now that fully separates staff and customers. A large standing only room full of unhappy guests waiting too long for food that used to be fast. Dirty tables everywhere because staff never leave the kitchen unless they absolutely have to.

In this day and age, living in a place that - you like, - you can afford, - you can find a job, - you have family/friends, - you feel safe, and - you *are* safe from natural disasters/bad laws/worse is luxury and privilege. Almost no one gets to check all the boxes. So maybe don’t be an asshole.
