I think it is crucial for the health of the Democratic party that the entire consultant class from previous administrations, including and especially Clinton, be told to go home and stop bothering people. They are wrong about everything and have been holding the party back for decades.

The context of *this* wave of visceral rage at rapists is that in the past decade we've seen them take complete control of the government, turn the entire economy into their ponzi scheme, gain trillions of dollars of exploited wealth. We've seen an opposition party abjectly fail at stopping them

If my friends told me they were gang raping someone, jesus fucking christ I don’t have friends like that and if I did I’d have no choice but to run into traffic.

Minuet of Don Giovanni he’s playing now. Court dresses of all descriptions in castle chambers dancing. Misery. Peasants outside. Green starving faces eating dockleaves. Nice that is. Look: look, look, look, look, look: you look at us.

I’m not going to spend any time pointing out when my posts are satiric. I accept the general lack of discernment as simply “how things are,” and leave it entirely up to readers to improve their knowledge of such things.

If you are still wondering what rape culture is think of what it would be like if rape was so explicitly endorsed by institutions and systems that a known rapist was the president.

for in the world are no goodlier books to be seen, more ornate, nor more eloquent than the texts of the Pandects, but the bordering of them, that is to say, the gloss of Accursius, is so scurvy, vile, base, and unsavoury, that it is nothing but filthiness and villainy.

The Free Press bravely challenging the orthodox belief that film criticism should involve watching the film.
A headline from Bari Weiss’s The Free [sic] Press:

“Hold Your Applause for the New Gaza Documentary

There may yet be hard truths in 'NAZA,' including evidence of Israel's systemic failures. But the reporting around it treats flimsy claims as proof of criminality.”

First line: “i haven't seen the film,”

I object to the resurrection of the term "communist" to describe China and North Korea. There is little difference between these so-called governments and the ancient systems of divine kingship.

A major factor was that much of the Western involvement in Russian economic reform was driven by political, not economic objectives. The Clinton administration was clear that rapid privatisation was necessary to prevent the return of communism. This is Larry Summers in July 1993:

A key question is whether or not the electoral system in this country can be trusted. If the enemy has corrupted it enough to win elections in this climate, where polls show an historically high unpopularity for them, then I think any remaining trust will suffer a fatal blow.

Happy Hour News Guys, I’ve spent a lot of my free time today reading and pondering the ruling from the Sinister Six apparatchiks of the John Roberts illegitimate and corrupt SCOTUS. No doubt you already heard about it. You can find the opinion and dissent here. Two things you need to know about the SCOTUS ruling right away: It does NOT allow states to conduct mass voter roll purges before the midterms.
