I know I'm the furthest thing from a rocket psychologist, but what in the great googly moogly fuck is the thought process behind this?

🎮 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲? You sit down thinking you'll play for an hour - suddenly it's 3 AM. For me, Mass Effect 2. The first time I played it, I got so absorbed that I played for 8-10 hours straight without even realizing how much time had passed. What's yours?

Crazy that tomorrow is the 200th episode of Midlife SideQuest. So super grateful to everyone who has listened to this old tired nerd blab into a microphone over the past 13 years.

🎮 I'm probably not buying Wolverine anytime soon. The QTEs, handholding and difficulty don't look like the Insomniac experience I expected. But I'm not writing them off. They've earned enough goodwill from me to wait for patches and a sale. Disappointed? Absolutely. Done? Not even close.

After wrapping up Platinum #76 with Star Wars Outlaws I think my next adventure is gonna finally be Control. Timely with reviews for the sequel hitting today, & it's a game I've always wanted to try but just never found the time. It was given away on PS+ awhile ago, so the time just feels right.

This series seems impossible to jump into, but I also wouldn't have the time even if it were.

🎮 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆, “𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻” 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 “𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻.” Sometimes I don't want a remake. Just better textures, resolution and performance. We remade The Last of Us... but 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗻 can't get some love? Some games just need a glow-up.

🎮 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺. Sometimes the trophy list is a chore. Sometimes the game isn't worth 40 more hours. Not just Platinum #263, but 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦 sitting in my trophy case because I loved it enough to explore every corner of it. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗺 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹.🏆

I know that no one is immune, but seeing Altano get laid off feels completely unbelievable. I understand this affects so many people, but this one feels like removing a support structure in your colonial house. WHY would they do that?!

Hey! If you like video game podcasts from smaller content creators that talk to you like an adult and are only 15 minutes long because you’re busy af, give Midlife SideQuest a try and share with your friends!!

I would LOVE to see them reverse course, but all signs point to them just not giving a fuck and sticking to their guns. And now they introduced live TV... Look, I am sticking w/ PS because I'm too stubborn to move, but this feels a LOT like XBone Don Mattrick territory.... ugh
