I think most of the New Macross Class colony ships have a piece of Earth architecture aboard. To remind people where they come from/what they lost. Frontier got SF/LA and Galaxy got Detroit/Flint.

This idea has some merit, especially when you consider the inconsistencies between DYRL and the series, and how DYRL is an in-universe movie version of real events. Who’s to say what the “real” version of any of the songs was? Just imitate the most recent popular cover that everybody knows.

I think the VF-25 is the only one to be slapped on-screen by a woman. They wanted it to look good.
