Spotlight on: Yellow-horned Poppy This unusual looking poppy species, with its horn-like seed pods up to 30cm long, was photographed near Swansea. It loves shingle banks and stony beaches. This makes it vulnerable to trampling, storm damage, and coastal development.

The Loughor Wildfowl Walk yesterday was a story of rain, rainbows and treats including a visiting marsh harrier and a soundtrack provided by curlews and oystercatchers 💙 We had a fascinating walk along the seawall led by RSPB volunteer Russell Evans, recording at least 41 species of birds.

2025 is a wrap! It's not been the easiest of years but I'm leaving on the positives! I survived a 40ft fall down a Gorge on a farm, battered and bruised, and walked away with 'just' a broken ankle. At least 2 new species added to UK species list, and several new to Wales. 26 sites surveyed.
