The stunning orchids my gorgeous next door neighbour brought me yesterday. Needless to say, her bins are always brought in/out for her and we regularly thank our lucky stars for the 20 years of peaceful co-existence.

In the middle of an endo flare that painkillers do not touch and the drs keep telling me not to worry about as I’m so old it will all resolve itself any day now … and I’m so comforted that researchers took the time to investigate whether I might be more attractive to men (this is sarcasm).

My son’s NDIS plan was just extended for 12 months and the stress that left my body was immeasurable. When I saw the letterhead I was almost sick, sure he was getting kicked out. I just want to get him through school. This is life now in the disability community.

Red sun through the bushfire smoke haze in Melbourne tonight. 1st time my youngest has seen this and my eldest was probably too young to remember. They thought that the cool change meant it was over, we had to tell them the fire makes its own weather.

In 2009 I slept through Black Saturday. Heavily pregnant, I went to bed after the change thinking it was safe. I woke to a phone that had gone mad with messages, family and friends terrified that we might have been at the family property in Buxton, next to Marysville. We were home in Melbourne. 1/2

My 16yo was caught singing “I drank the slab that Bon Scott drank’ at school today. Fortunately the same teacher had commented on his Rage Against the Machine t-shirt at a free dress day so knew of his 90s parental music influences and simply said “TISM”, nodded and kept walking.
