Recipe idea: How to bake a hardened terrorist Ingredients: Young idealistic people Violently crush peaceful protest. Lock up the young people. Mix in a sprinkle of hardened criminals. Leave to stew for a decade. Behold. Your perfect terrorists.

It's a bad faith question instantly dismissed by the intelligent as ridiculous. But the question isn't designed for intelligent debate. It's a purity test for stupid people designed to lead to gotchas if the reply is yes or no. And a nuanced complex response results in an anti-semitism accusation.

They don't. I am not saying this money definitely came from Russia. I would however say that it is premature to rule out the possibility.

Just hypothetically, if you were a foreign state looking to donate to Reform, could you think of a better way of doing so anonymously than by purchasing the services of a crypto billionaire?

The problem is that it isn't just Israel that should be banned. The US committed the crime of aggression in attacking Iran. Exactly the same crime as Russia committed in Ukraine. Same crime, same sentance would mean a US ban. However the US cannot be banned because the US is above the law.

It is absurd to think we can rejoin at the press of a button. Any attempt to rejoin will involve a long process of negotiation with the EU. There is zero chance we will be back in by 2029.

I voted Labour in the 1990s. Then came the Iraq war lies. I vowed to never vote for Blair or anyone in his cabinet. I came back for Corbyn since he seemed sufficiently distant. But now we have Blairism Mk 2, with extra genocide. Not a chance.

The UAE is heavily linked to funding the ongoing genocide in Sudan. Any British politician with a shred of morality would have nothing to do with the regime.

What war in Gaza? The term "war" is normally used for when two roughly equivalent armed forces clash together militarily. Better would be "As the scourging of Gaza approaches its fourth year"

If that's your attitude - any excuse to turn on those who actually do shit instead of sit on their arse, then no wonder you ended up with Trump.

Is this the time and the place? A woman is in jail after standing up for a just cause, whilst you sit in your chair at your computer. And you're acting like she deserves it because in 2016 ago she expressed an opinion you don't like.

I'm fed up with all this refugee boats fiasco. Thousands of fighting age men making their way to our seaside towns looking to start trouble. The right-wingers should stay at home.

Speculation: Trump loves distraction Trump is likely to cheat in the midterms Trump has threatened to annihilate Iran after midterms if no deal is reached. Put this together: Will Trump use a nuclear strike on Iran as a distraction from the domestic political issue of cheating in the midterms?

Lovecraft was prescient. Azathoth - a great black mass gnawing hungrily at the centre of the universe surrounded by dancing gigantic ultimate gods. Scientists, many decades later: Black holes - a great black hungry mass at the centre of the galaxy surrouned by rapidly orbiting gigantic stars.

This winter we are likely to enter a recession. Largely due to American idiocy. However, Labour will be blamed. Incumbents were blamed everywhere post 2008. If Reform is seen as the only alternative then Reform will inevitably win the next election. We need a left alternative.

Wasn't that approach tried in 1930s Germany, where most left and centre parties tried banding together to stop the Nazis? That just meant they were all blamed together for Germany's economic mess, and gave the Nazis a single target to aim at with their rhetoric.

Lots of jargon. Hard to fully understand. Buyout founds? What exactly is being brought? Companies? In what state? And if the debt is sliced so the insurers get paid first, then who the hell is stupid enough to take the debt the insurers won't touch?

Inhospitable like there will be periods of the year where no mammalian life can survive there. If wet bulb temperatures exceed 35 degrees C then no one can survive, even in the shade. People die within hours. And several highly populated areas of the world are perilously close.

Friends claim to be apolitical. So does Ed Sheeran. Many people don't have that choice. Politics happens to them. They get shot at. They get beaten up. Harassed online. Fired from their job. Being apolitical is saying you don't give a shit about them. Or anyone else that isn't you and yours.

Your 'moment of doom' for Sept. 15, 2026 ~ ARkStorm! "The biggest worry is ... a megastorm worst-case scenario known as the ARkStorm. If it does, expect millions of homes and businesses to be flooded, long-term damage to infrastructure, and economic losses totalling almost $1tn."

The incoming ‘super’ El Niño will create chaos around the world. And we are far from ready for it | Bill McGuire
One of the biggest upheavals in a millennium is on its way, strengthened by the climate crisis. We need leaders who make things better not worse, says climate professor Bill McGuire

This will happen at a similar time to: - Hormuz closure effects begin to really bite. - Fallout from US midterms as GOP attempts steal - AI firms teeter on the brink, threatening to collapse the entire world economy if they fall. Combine all these, and we're in for a wild ride with a hard landing.

As of September 10th, the Nino 3.4 anomaly is now 2.94°C (preliminary) above the 1991-2020 baseline, setting the 104th consecutive daily record, a full 1.09°C above the previous record for the day, set in 1997. The Climate 8-ball is gobsmacked.

Personally I am avoiding watching any world cup games. The US should be banned from sport, not hosting it. However, I am not paid to represent the views of many voters who still follow the England team.

Zarah is ultimately, like all politicians, beholden to her constituents, many of whom are England fans. It costs her nothing to say nice things about the team, and no moral compromise is involved. The England team are not responsible for the antics of the UK government or the hosts.

Pointing out a single successful leader is not an endorsement of an entire country. Every country has had good and bad leaders in its past. It seems that any mention of Russia is triggering to some Americans.

No. What we need a serious effort to understand how politicians, business media and the military will respond in different countries to various climate change scenarios. That's not the job of marketing so as far as I'm aware it's not getting done.

I presume that would massively affect global weather patterns, but on that timescale wouldn't weather already be messed up everywhere due to other climate change effects (e.g. AMOC collapse)? The paper is beyond my level, but wouldn't this need extensive modelling to guesstimate the full impact.
