Almost bookalikes? The cover of The Floating World by Ben Eastham published by Astra House was designed by Adrian Tonello; the cover of May We Feed the King by Rebecca Perry published by Transit was designed by Jared Bartman. Both out in the US this month.

Today's a good time to reshare this thread. Fantastic whimsy - and I don't often use that term, but works perfectly here - from the brilliant Jim Flora. He's influenced oh, so many artists since he was rediscovered in the '90s. Enjoy! #wardsmorguefile

I drew the cover for the latest @newyorker.com More here: www.newyorker.com/culture/cover-story/cover-story-2026-06-29

The New Yorker dated 29 June 2026 titled ‘Landscape portrait’. The cover is almost completely filled with a large classic painting in a gold frame. It shows a landscape with hills, rocks and trees. A horse and rider stand on a rocky outcrop overlooking a plain that stretches out to the sea. In the bottom left corner of the cover, a smiling tourist takes a selfie with the painting behind him.

Sergio García Sánchez and Lola Moral’s “The Secret Life of Books”
I love this new cover for the Fiction Issue of The New Yorker by artists Sergio García Sánchez and Lola Moral. Is there a history of these kinds of cutaway illustrations on New Yorker covers? There was another Sánchez-Moral collaboration "Ready to Soar" a couple of years ago, and Luci Gutiérrez’s “Inside Story” cover for the 'Cartoons & Puzzles' issue last December. Then there is the New Yorkeresque poster for Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch by illustrator Javi Aznarez. Where did the inspiration for that come from?

Hi. Hello. I hope you're all keeping well. This month seems to have flown by so I apologise for rather rushing this out at the last minute. My novel FOLKLORN: translated into Korean by 임슬애, published by Open Books, design by 유승희! Grateful, honored! So meaningful to me as a diaspora Korean writing about cultural translation & migration. Thank you @kellylink.bsky.social for all your help, yr blurb is in Korean! (red chunk, lower right)
Korean translation book cover of FOLKLORN by Angela Mi Young Hur. Korean woodcut-style graphics of mountain-scape with trees and seas, designed by 유승희. Tiny figures of women representing Korean folkloric figures appear throughout--one in a lake, one on a ship, another bobbing in the ocean waves, one sitting atop a roof, and another on a mountaintop overlooking all. They represent the folkloric figures whose first-person tales appear throughout the novel, previously translated by the author's childhood memory into English, through psychic need and a feminist revisionist cultural lens. Now translated into Korean by 임슬애, so that the echoes of storytelling, reading, interpretation and writing continue to resound through the mountains and across the seas. Korean title of translation: We, Like an Echo. Published by Open Books, in Korea. Full cover of back, spine and front. The back features mountains, with back cover copy shaped like a peak. Blurbs in red. Bar code echoes the rhythmic graphic lines of the waves, shaped like a cresting wave as well. Spine features red cranes flying in a pattern echoing infinity. Some birds break free from these generational patterns, to reach the woman on the mountaintop, to form a bridge of birds perhaps or to relay what they’ve witnessed. Blurbs, in Korean translation, from the New York Times Book Review's Amal El-Mohtar, Kelly Link and RF Kuang.
