i've seen probably like 60% of the original CATS musical through clips, which is a strange feeling whenever it gets stuck in my head. I'm not off-put by its premise, but idk if I'd *like* it in full (not for nothing, I know it gets more than a little racist at points). but its got such bangers

would you believe i ended up reading kafka before creek LMAO however i was only asked to read The Metamorphosis, which I know is his most famous work but it presumably isn't enough to establish a trend of what's "kafkaesque". so I will have to do further reading on my own time to sort that out

in retrospect, while "bowsette" was kind of already doomed by virtue of being "a meme that got extremely popular and can be sexualized" (unwinnable matchup), I think it's a shame that the most "mario" I ever saw it get was focusing on love triangles with mario and peach. thats not why i like bowser

played ring racers online recently, which I haven't done in a while, and so played a lot of modded racetracks: I know this is super selfish posting of me, but there are sooo many maps that don't follow this principle. frequent combo of "poor signposting" and "when you do get stuck its in a corner"

i really did my rubesty to like prince of darkness but in the end I think it's simply too vague. way too much gets left unsaid - leaving some things unsaid was a strength of nadesico TV, but TV asked you to fill in the gaps and PoD asks you to fill in the borders. pictured is me, watching the movie

really funny thought that occurred to me about TV nadesico's ending - most of the cast hasn't seen gekiganger for most of the show, but hikaru must've assumed "akito's seen all of it, so he's already metabolized the whole last episode thing." come to find at the last second that No He Hasn't

akito (mostly offscreen, in his aestivalis's cockpit with yurika, during the martian successor nadesico finale) says "yurika, i watched the last episode of gekiganger 3. oh, it was a terrible episode. but as horrible as it was, i want to believe in how i was so attached to gekiganger."
an extremely alarmed hikaru over comms (which in nadesico are little floating videos) silently thinks to herself "OH MY GOD HE DIDN'T KNOW"

recently my shower was repaired such that a previously unusable tap now must be raised, and lowers automatically once it's off. this has the effect of making a loud metal sound ~1 min after I turn off the shower, making me instinctively feel that ive just set off a crossbow trap to kill me instantly
