Did you know that you don't need to prompt for some sounds ? I have a couple of "organic" sound pack here, just for you. First, one about glass bottle impacts ! #sfx #noai #cc0 casual-garage-coder.itch.io/glass-bottle...

Finally took the decision to do a "demake" of my prototype to really focus on gameplay. But still need some placeholder. No problem ! Let's check #blender3D documentation about animation , and here we are.

It doesn't mean a lot, but I'm almost back with consistent gamedev schedule. Finding balance between draining 9-to-5, family and #indiegamedev is not easy. After a rough couple of months, I'm back with more "black magic" things in my backlog (did I mention GPU-backed #textile simulation ?).

Fixed the "thumbs" issue. In fact, Kenney's asset source lacked some bones, and more specifically finger tips. So, i've picked a skeleton from an asset that works, and replace it, and #Godot rebound it automagically. Et voilà ! #gamedev

Managed to cut down @kenney.nl (all glory to you) asset into pieces to make a proof of concept of modular character in #GodotEngine. One skeleton, one animation player/tree, several interchangeable body parts. #indiegamedev

Back to work with some small #GodotEngine challenge (not a real one tho) : Modular characters. Hot swapable meshes with the same skeleton. Every part as to be in sync (which is FUN when using an animation tree). I'm trying several approaches, but aiming to ONE animation tree/payer and ONE skeleton.

Godot adoption is rising: what are devs getting out of the engine?
Godot's 'lightweight' features are a major reason why devs are sticking with the open source engine.

I know, I know ... Locking tuners ? Really ??! They are useless right ?! ... But they look so good ! (Oh, and I've fixed the nut already, and both have fixed bridge ...). Split post tuners maybe ? Sure, sure ... Don't care. I wanted those ones. Tried them in my AR250. Now on my ESP. #guitargear

First couple of hours teaching my daughter how to #gamedev. For now, I'm showing her how to start. Then, she'll probably implement simple bits here and there, trying to modify scripts and/or scenes to add gameplay features. #GodotEngine

Back with a little side project. My daughter wants to learn how to #gamedev. So I'm showing her the whole process, from minimal GDD to placeholders preparation and finally prototyping. And now, between Kenney's All-In-One assets package and #GodotEngine game templates, things are easier.

Those past two weeks were erratic, to say the least. Heatwaves and 9-to-5 relentlessly drained me to the point that it threatened my health . I hope to get back on track "for teal" starting today.

Trying to make a #Godot plugin out of my graph editor "framework." The biggest task is documentation (godot plugin system is hopefully rather simple). I'm considering reorganizing source files (scenes and scripts) into directories containing their dedicaded documentation (in markdown). #gamedev

Made a simple prototype of a "Annoying Game-Loop-Breaking Mini-Game". Of course, I've set it to some nightmarish difficulty. The goal of this minigame is to align all the green sections. Before launch, one can choose the number of rings, the min/max number of influences and max shift. #indiegamedev

Instant loot (for now) and oversimple inventory. The inventory is meant to be as simple as that with a little twist. The loot will have a dedicated animation and even some more complex interaction. The radial menu seems to be shaking 'cause it's tied to the character head. #indiegamedev #GodotEngine

I'm torn between using raymarching (expensive) or some tricks to bring my shader to life through polys rasterization (less computation, more thinking). In those days of resource scarcity in terms of CPU/GPU computation power/memory, that's a question that needs to be addressed. #indiegamdev

Preparing the next big phase of the water mesh procedural generation about rapids and waterfall. However, I'm hesitating between creating a mesh OR painting a supersampled texture that will be used by a dedicated shader. This could address a lot of issues plus offering a nice per-pixel rendering.

Experimented a continuous path-finding to resolve streams curve generation. It works. Unfortunately, it is really too slow for some tricky cases, and I think there's some smokes and mirrors I could use to hack my way to a simpler solution. #procgen #GodotEngine #indiegame
