It’s the 1st of October and here in Hampshire, UK, it’s a fresh autumnal morning. The first bird I heard was a Jackdaw calling as it flew over. The first bird I saw was a Woodpigeon on a neighbour’s roof. What was your 1st bird of the month?

It’s the 1st of September and here in Hampshire there is a cloudy sky and the hint of Autumn chill in the air! The first bird I heard was a singing Robin in the early hours. The first bird I saw was a Feral Pigeon on a neighbour’s roof. What was your 1st bird of the month?

The Black Tern at Winter's Pond spent a lot of the time feeding while we were there yesterday. But did give some good perched views in between. Although it almost toppled itself off its perch while preening... #ukbirding #lincsbirding

A Lento milestone - episode 300! Recorded on Wednesday on the coast path near Bawdsey in Suffolk. Just the trees and the sea and thousands of maize plants swaying in the warm air. Suffolk maize field in coastal breezes (55 mins) > radiolento.podbean.com/e/300-suffol...

How did your #globalbigday go? The Casual Birder Podcast Team had 37 members in 10 countries and logged 367 species! Along with our fundraising for @birdlifeglobal.bsky.social it was a wonderful event! I was birding in Suffolk, UK & logged 89 species - a personal best for a big day! 🪶
