Way too much "writing advice" in English is about stripping nuance and specificity from communication. You can totally use and SHOULD USE your adverbs, em dashes, semicolons, passive voice, helper verbs if you are using them correctly or intentionally.

Dear grammar checkers everywhere: "have done" and "had done" and "will have done" and "will do" are FOUR SEPARATE ASPECTS OF SPEECH they should not be collapsed into "did" and "do"!!! Stop teaching people auxiliary verbs have no meaningful function!! They are often PRETTY SIGNIFICANT for meaning!!
