Switched over to a new phone today and purged all text messages more than a year old. These 3 were received from unknown numbers, so I assume they're spam, but they all seemed plausible and/or intriguing enough that I considered responding.

Grapes are purple and green, but they're called red and white?

Saw this little guy when I went out to lunch today and stopped in my tracks to boo and yell at it while it navigated around me 👎

A delivery robot on the sidewalk in Philadelphia. It's a rectangular box on wheels kind of like a tiny bus, about knee-level height with a screen on the front that was displaying animated graphics (Easter themed on Thursday after the holiday Sunday). There's a squat cylindrical camera on top that looks kind of like a siren, and a red flag sticking out of it that's a couple feet taller than the siren.

One year ago I arrived in France for the trip of my dreams, feeling jetlagged and insane with anticipation. I had only recently started my Duolingo studies and barely knew any words at all, but I did know "gare," so seeing the sign on the bldg in the background of this pic was like seeing a celeb. 🤩

I studied Spanish in school, so learning French as an adult via an app has been wild. For example, I just learned today (after 300 days!) that these people are out here saying "sixty-twelve" and it means 72. What a language.
