A particularly fine episode this (Why do one's own songs sound so much better on the radio?). And I jumped up and wept for joy at the end when he plays the song Wire performed at the M25 night at the Barbican 2002. I never thought I'd hear it again, but it's been released at last. Hallelujuwire!

I was surprised it was played because it’s probably one of the two most “challenging” tracks on the album (although both are also laughing up their sleeve). Yes, that can certainly happen and it’s a pleasant surprise when it does. ‘Carrion Carya Amara’ is a very odd album and it might not ever make your Desert Island Discs list. 😄 But yeah, it’s one that almost certainly takes a few careful listens, in the right (or wrong?) frame of mind to make sense.
