I have a Vertuo and like it a lot. If you're only doing espresso and not other sizes of coffee, I recommend the traditional nespresso machine. My sister has it and I like its espresso a little more. Frothing pitcher is a great add on. They send you free mail in recycling bags when you order pods.

It's too long for a post, and can't easily be broken up into a thread, so I'm going to do the screenshot + alt text thing to say: vote for zero Republicans.

In my political life, I have attempted to follow the wise counsel provided by my church.

"Some principles compatible with the gospel may be found in various political parties, and members should seek candidates who best embody those principles. Members should also study candidates carefully and vote for those who have demonstrated integrity, compassion, and service to others, regardless of party affiliation."

Following this counsel has led me to support candidates of various political parties, or no political party. (My friend Jason Williams has called me one of the few true independents he knows.) It also leads many people I know to ask for my advice on which candidates they should support. With this in mind, I hope you take the following statement as seriously as it is intended as ballots arrive in your mailbox.

The correct number of Republicans to vote for this year is zero.

Either as collaborators or cowards, the elected officials and candidates of the GOP have shown that they will not stand for the rule of law, and will actively support or passively defer to an ethnonationalist fascism antithetical to every American ideal. Even Karl Rove (yes, that Karl Rove) has said that the GOP has a serious Nazi problem (his words, not mine). Many others who have left the GOP, including Bill Kristol, Adam Kinzinger, Liz Cheney, and Joe Walsh have stated very clearly what I do: the GOP has become an un-American disgrace not worth your votes. When it comes to holding their own accountable, they have proven quite thoroughly that they will not.

Any candidate who can support rule of law, pluralism (especially as recently expressed by Dallin H. Oaks), and strong personal integrity is worthy of consideration regardless of their policy positions. I have personally decided that none of my policy preferences matter unless we correct for the rampant and intentional lawbreaking currently happening in this administration. We used to go fossil hunting at Heuston Woods when I was a kid (ca 1980) but I'm sure that's no longer allowed in a state park

If they're near ohio there's the fossil park in Sylvania in the former Medusa limestone quarry. It's Devonian, so crinoids, brachiopods, corals, trilobites, etc
