A landscape made from #soft wool - before the wet felting process #BlueSkyArtShow #WetFelting

A slightly abstract representation of a North Yorks Moors landscape, made from soft, colourful wisps of wool, silk, and thin strips of patterned sari silk. The sky is blue with white clouds, fading to yellow in one corner, with a hazy sun. The hills in the background are green and brown, and a purple slope in the foreground represents a bank of heather. This wool 'painting' will be sandwiched between layers of bubble wrap, then rolled in soapy water to agitate the natural fibres and felt the materials together. This will turn the individual wisps into one sheet of fabric.

Brilliant to see THE HERDS visit Pennington Flash this afternoon, a joint venture with Wigan Council and Manchester International Festival. These amazing creatures stopped at Wigan during their 20,000km journey to raise awareness of the #climatecrisis 🌍 🦒🦍🦓🐘 #theherds
