robocop: rogue city (2023) - kind of a weird game! it's like a wide-linear fps and that stuff feels pretty standard but it also flirts with rpg mechanics like a basic leveling system and a clearly fallout-inspired dialogue system that's about 10% of the way there in terms of its depth and choices.

iron blight (2026) - short but sweet little eastern european-flavored first-person survival horror. not much in the way of story, puzzles, or variety, but the gunplay and exploration is strong enough to keep it going for the 6 or so hours the game takes to beat.

wait wait wait hold the fucking phone. when eddie first enters toontown and encounters bugs bunny he's drawn with his early-mid 1940s design, and then at the end of the movie, a whole HALF HOUR LATER, he has his later, more modern design!! literally unwatchable!!!! anyway still a great movie

crisol: theater of idols (2026) - not bad, but very weighed down by over-ambition. it tries to tell a grand story, but it falls flat due to a goofy script and some very uneven voice acting, and the game runs out of new tricks and feels very padded for playtime. great visuals and atmosphere though.

a thing about this w-oled that's apparently an inherit issue to the technology is this banding on dark grays--it's hard to photograph but you can see the slightly varying shades of gray in vertical stripes and a line going horizontally. it's not something i notice 95% of the time but it's there

playing a neat survival horror game from a spanish studio called crisol: theater of idols, feels kinda like a mixture of modern resident evil and bioshock with a very striking aesthetic and an interesting gimmick where your health pool is also your ammo. quite a beautiful game!
