I see that the Brown/Harvard game is at Centreville Bank Stadium and it's sold out. What if... Brown moved all of its games there, tore down their stadium, and we used the land to build a few dozen triple-deckers? It's in the middle of the east side!

My personal experience with a similar configuration on Broad Street - you do have to be on the lookout for left turners. I tend to ride slower on this type of lane - which is fine for me. Hopefully we'll have enough corner protection for daylighting the corners.

Was there a more progressive candidate for Governor this year who had a chance of winning? No. In 2022, the non-McKee vote was split and he won the primary with <33%. This isn’t hard to figure out

Morley Field is the only explanation I've seen that makes sense. I'm not a Pawtucketer though and I haven't heard enough from Pawtucketers to rightly say.

Smiley and McKee were unusual incumbents because they won their primaries in '22 with pluralities. In Smiley's case it was clear that the progressive vote was split. They both started their tenures 'in the hole' but they didn't do anything to climb out of it.

Yeah, RCV would have made a huge difference in 2022 with those two races. Could have made a difference this year in the AG and LG races which were so crowded

If you start out with only a plurality of the primary votes, you should really do something to appeal to those voters if you want to be re-elected. Neither of them did that despite opportunities to do so.

A forgotten point about Smiley and McKee losing: both of them won in 2022 because their primaries were 3-way (Smiley) or 5-way (McKee) races. Smiley won with ~41% and McKee didn't even get 1/3 of the primary votes. The PVD race was clearly a case of the progressive candidates splitting that vote.

There are still a few downtown office workers... that could be some of them too. I voted there in 2024 when I worked downtown, it was so nice to just pop over on a coffee break and get it done!

There's such a discrepancy between the most and least expensive. Newport has the highest costs, and they are nearly triple the least expensive town - Richmond. The tiny towns actually have lower costs. Page 24 has the breakdown: ripec.org/wp-content/u...
