That part about the components definitely bothered me, especially as someone who usually chooses component color based on what I'm able to see color vision wise. That said, I loved my play of it enough that it really stuck with me.

I think that the impact is intentional for sure. I don't want to judge the overall story based on the initial impression we had, because there's definitely room for it to develop...but the initial shock sure hit us like a ton of bricks.

Tonight we started our playthrough of King's Dilemma after it sitting on my shelves for a number of years waiting for the right group. I'm still processing what I thought...I like what the game system delivers a lot but the subject matter was visceral...especially in today's climate.

Aly and I went to Matty Matheson's restaurant Rizzo's House of Parm to kick off our anniversary vacation tonight. While the chicken parm was great, the carbonara and Focaccia absolutely stole the show for us.

So I played retaliation solo on BGA as my first full Nemesis game (I've played the 20 strong version) and I was missing something. I haven't played the other two, but have the original on my shelf of aspiration. It'd be hard for me to give you a good rec on that. C:DMD is outstanding though!

I've heard a lot about "Got Five" (Yoann Levet, Blue Orange) and got the chance to play it during a recent game day. This is on my shortlist to pick up. Accessible logic experience in a relatively small box and a play time that allows players to pick up another round immediately afterwards.
