Well, the design is excellent! For such a complex game it's surprisingly easy to follow, so good work to you and everyone else involved. The hand off between the board, the turn sequence flipbook and the other reference books is great. I feel like you all created something quite special.

The relief that @gmtgames.bsky.social Mr President - a game I’ve been after for ages - just fits on the jigsaw mat I use for #boardgames! Means I can tuck it away between sessions. With limited space and a family I’d have struggled to find time and space to play it otherwise #soloboardgames

It really is great. So much fun. Apparently there's a sequel coming with a new board and new racers and you can play 4 different tracks and mix all the racers from the old game and new game together.

Love playing Hive with the kids. We take it to restaurants with us to play while we wait for the food to come out. Small and compact and don't need to worry about it getting wet or dirty

Spirit Island is so good, especially with the Branch and Claw and Jagged Earth expansions. I completed Gloomhaven a few years back and I'm a bit of the way through Frosthaven. Have you played Bugs and Buttons? It's a good Haven experience but in a box tiny enough to take on holiday

So here in Australia I now have to give my personal data to a random 3rd party company to subscribe to a Substack for @pnparcade.bsky.social (a site to download print n play games). Got #marvelchampions Civil War expansion for Christmas. Great to see @fantasyflightgames.bsky.social switching to using paper to wrap cards and small tags to seal boxes rather than using cellophane. Not sure how much it adds to the cost but would love to see this more from other publishers.

And I've never read #LotR (I know.... I know) but if I had I think I'd be getting even more out of it. It's inspired me to grab the Fellowship of the Ring and I'm really enjoying it. I think I assumed it would be a tougher read with antiquated language which is maybe why I was avoiding it.

I piled all 6 characters into Mordor right at the end. I had some lucky shadow card draws just before the final search which meant there were only 2 Nazgul in Mordor and I'd banked loads of rings but they weren't needed thanks to Gollum's ability to roll 3 less dice.

One of my favourite things is buying a new #marvelchampions deck, sleeving it and reading each card before playing. I always play a game with the pre-con for better or for worse so I can play every card. Just need to pick a companion and a scenario now… #boardgames #soloboardgames

I wish I'd played Jaws of the Lion first as it I think it would have made picking up Gloomhaven much easier. There's a bit more to it, but you've got all the basic concepts sorted now so it should be pretty straight forward.

I used to write longer prose and even write down all rolls etc. Now I tend to jot down what’s happening and I keep a list of npcs and locations separately with numbers referencing the notes I’ve taken so I can easily find where/when I’m the story I met or visited things.

I say this all the time to non-board game folk who can't believe I'll spend $50 on a board game as they're used to mass produced Monopoly costing $10. The same folk who think nothing of spending that kind of money on a ticket for a sports match or a good meal out that lasts a couple of hours.

I had and loved this edition of Crossbows and Catapults. I 3d printed a version for my kids a few years back and it was so much fun to play again. Plus I was able to print a load of extra bricks so we could build huge fortresses

Yes it's amazing. I bought all the series up to Feet of Clay, when for some reason I drifted off (most likely as a late teen/early 20 yr old to read 'cooler' books) so I still only own less than half the discworld books. I know I am appreciating them so much more now then I did even back then.

Thanks, sounds like Wyrmspan is the game for me. I literally just had another person ask me if I'd heard of Wingspan! I'm in Australia so board games aren't quite as main stream as in the US, but Wingspan is starting to get sold in bigger chain stores. It's great to see people picking up the hobby.
