It pains me to say, but: M*A*S*H. It sucked after Bari Weiss took over.

I can see how you might see it that way. I'd make the point that mockery from a stranger is like wind in the trees: perhaps heard, but easily ignored. I, myself don't like it. But: I'm an adult and take it for what it's worth - nothing.

Fair point. Though, I get mocked all the time - in person, at home. I live through it

You're often quoting X,Y,Z facts to make the point that other people are wrong to worry, or be unhappy. I'd hope that you could take a bit of criticism or - perish the thought - backhanded digs. Absent profanity or name calling, why go on a blocking spree?

At Columbia, my work-study was at SIPA. There were a lot of fascinating people teaching/researching there. Many had political views I was not fond of. But, they were all intellectual heavyweights. This is a sad joke.

I'm an American. I'm often in Georgia. Outside of Atlanta or college campuses, the rest of the state makes me nervous. It's not a horrible place, but: I don't recommend it

If the Dems get a big majority, the first this they should do is replace Jeffries. It's not like anyone would miss him.

There can’t be a surprise ending for a story that has no stakes. The word they’re looking for here is “Arbitrary.”

Well said. These latest films barely have any entertainment value, let alone relevance in the real world

Back in the old days, the Robber Barons at least pretended to care about society. We got some libraries out of the deal. This latest crop are horrible - and proud of it

I take your point about Trump's obsession(s). But even with a President Ossoff, Canada has (at least) 75 million crazy neighbors. It can't hurt make alternate plans - in general. I agree about a headlong rush for 'energy independence' which is a way to line crony's pockets.

Brendan Carr was not in a 'cult raping teen girls'. He went to a very sketchy AA group that engaged in gross, predatory behavior. Not excusable, but: Not a cult, not raping. Furthermore, in the article about this, woman say Carr did not prey on women in the group.

Genuinely, when you send someone to the United States Senate as submoronic, gibbering and ridiculous as Tommy Tuberville, your statehood should be suspended. At this point there should be 49 United States and the Alabama Territory. Followed by a second, more committed attempt at Reconstruction.

The article is kind of shite, though. "the 1st signs something was wrong" was in the early 1990s, not in 2007. The 'pigeons' were the newcomers, not Mike's lieutenants. The piece goes on to say that Carr (a raging MAGA) was a decent toward women in the group. So, why write the article now??

real wages vs what? The BS inflation figures the government put out? Inflation, less energy costs and anything that is rising? And what is the point of comparing today to Carter? Prices were rising faster in Weimar Germany that they are today

I know what you mean, but many nations do OK paying 50% more than that. One could argue that the historically cheap gas in the US was not sustainable.

Email with GA November ballot said it was for the 'June Run Off'. The actual ballot was correct (it seems), and the SOS sent a correction later. But: sheesh. given all that is going on, they could proof read the text. Also: the printed ballot has a QR code on it. Is that anonymous / legal?
