FOX: We’re active with Iran—how do you get out? El-Sayed: You don’t get in in the first place. We had an agreement that had contained nuclear weapons. We did not need to do this, so the first time the dunce got elected he pulled back on the agreement.

Incredibly disappointing ad from Mary Peltola (D-AK) saying she neither supports "kids getting surgeries to change genders or men in girls bathrooms." Yes, flipping the Senate is essential and can stop bad laws and bad judges from happening, but she can do it without my support from the lower 48.

"This election is about the threat of trans kids" is the worst possible messaging for Dems yet so many candidates are leaning into it. No voter will flip R->D over it. Low-info voters read this as "you're focused on bullshit that doesn't affect me" while the base reads this as "you're an asshole."

This is insane and everyone involved needs to be sued into oblivion and then go directly to jail
“[DOGE staffers] went into the system and they killed off people,” Glasgow told The Daily Beast. “About 4 million people, they marked them as dead. But they’re not sure if those people were supposed to be marked as dead, so they’re sending us an email saying, ‘If these people come into the office with their identification, you can reinstate them.’”

Trump claimed gas is $1.98 and eggs are down 94%. Reality check: gas hasn’t dipped below $2.19 anywhere, and eggs? They’re up 26%. When the numbers don’t work, they just make them up. Then double down. And then lie about the lie.

Maddow: 88% of the country says no, no, he cannot defy a supreme court ruling. Only 9% say yes he can. And you know, it's not the same thing. But I should mention that 9% is also the proportion of Americans who told yougov this week that they have a favorable view of the black plague

Running for office is weird and fun and difficult, but you rarely hear an honest first-person perspective from a candidate. Which is a shame: It'd be great for transparency and also interesting! If there's anything you'd like to know about being a candidate, ask and I'll try to get to it. :-)

If you take anything away from my post, I hope it's this:
I will scream this until my lungs collapse: Trans people aren’t the problem. Immigrants and refugees aren’t the problem. Progressives aren’t the problem.

The problem is that the majority of Americans can’t afford a $1000 emergency expense. The problem is that most of our paycheck goes to rent and if we have appendicitis, we call an Uber instead of an ambulance. The problem is that we have leaders who see us, the voters, as abstract concepts and not as individuals with our own lives, families, traumas, passions, and priorities. We are all somebody’s child but when representatives forget that, when they start to only view their district from the window of their Capitol office, we become ants. Our votes become numbers in a game. And our struggles become hindrances to our representative’s job security.

Removal from reality is most often an accident. It’s just a common side effect of our political culture. Congress should be a job like any other, but the pomp and circumstance gives our elected officials an excuse to detach. The ones who haven’t fallen into that trap have only managed to do so through purposeful planning and frequent trips home. They treat empathy like a muscle, flexing it as often as possible to ward off apathy. But this should be the norm, not the exception. If not for moral reasons, then for strategic ones.

Genuinely are most people just absolutely brain dead at this point? They don't even have any idea what AI actually is or does and just believe it's magic because of the tech grifters everywhere making shit up. It CANNOT THINK. It compares patterns usually from stolen work. It's predictive text.
