Love having mushrooms on my lawn. Mushrooms indicate healthy soil; they break down organic matter & recycle nutrients for plants. They improve soil structure, boost moisture retention, & support beneficial microbes in your lawn. I don't rake leaves. Instead mulch with the mower. #fungusfriday 🍄

I've a daughter who works in ER in BC. She's seen the carnage inflicted on cyclists from drivers & poor infrastructure. Take bike lanes away & it will become far worse. The article mentions "About 650 health-care workers have signed a letter calling on the province (Ont) to back down on its plans"

One of last flowers of the season before winter hits in the rewilded area of my yard is the New England Aster. While the other flowers have finished blooming for the season, this flower is now in its glory. The bees love it. It provides an important food source during this critical time of year.

Bike Lab Artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics will likely take over as many as 800 million jobs by 2030. For the kids of today who will be the adults of tomorrow this is a dismal prospect. One way for these youngsters to secure a needed place in society is to know how to fix stuff.

I was on afternoon crosswalk duty and I missed seeing the monarch butterfly emerge during that time. With cooler Sept. temperatures, it took 17 days for the transformation to take place in the chrysalis. With frost tonight, hopefully it will get some good distance travelled. Safe journeys to Mexico

I make it a habit to stop and look before I step out my front door. This Eastern Garter Snake likes to warm itself in the sun on the walk in front of the door before making its rounds. I haven't seen it in a few days, but it was warmer today, so it was back. Always love seeing it around. #snake 🐍
