Got a request in the Discord server the other day about wanting a basic face-forward Carl and Dude and I realized I never really drew them like that lol Anyway, now you can see Carl has a few inches over Dude

Basic concept drawing (fully colored) of Carl and Dude from webcomic Cans of Beans.

Finally found a Tumblr post that sums up this moment

Three panels from webcomic Cans of Beans. First panel, Carl and Dude are hugging. Second panel, Dude is hugging Carl and getting lost in it while Carl says "Um." Third panel, Dude is looking up surprised with blush on his face while Carl says "Dude?"

I was going over some of the trends/eras of illustration with my students today and Corporate Memphis created the most conversation. It was compared to a business man in a happy face mask, Arial & pop music. Good in contexts like brightening up a train station, bad in masking the cruelness of tech.

Getting to the point where I’m aching to draw these Cans of Beans sequel scenes but I can’t, I gotta hold strong and write the script all the way through first

We're hiring! We're looking for a Writer and Narrative Designer to join the Fallen London team at a senior or mid level. This position is permanent, remote, and full time, which for us means 35 hours a week. #GamesJobs

Night. The House of Chimes - a tower which you might immediately think of as Big Ben - is adrift in the River Thames. It still seems to be keeping time. In the background, a large, alien building looms over the city of London.

Carl AND Dude would be terrible at Dressmaker. Carl would make passable quality dresses but he has no eye for creative women's clothing Dude would make the worst dresses and piss off all the customers within a week. Or that vampire lady would drink his blood, idk.

It is insane to me that Kakao Entertainment killed its entire brand identity for something as generic as “tapas”

TAM GO @cansofbeans.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

I have known several casual webcomic enjoyers who remember Tapastic back from its heyday. When I tell them I mirrored my comic on “Tapas” they’d give me a confused look until I explained it was originally called Tapastic Not all apps/platforms need to be named to common words! GOD!

TAM GO @cansofbeans.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Since Tapas will be shutting down, here’s my most nitpicky hot take Tapastic should have never rebranded to “Tapas,” the term for appetizers in Spanish. Promoting your comic on Tapas also meant competing with food influencers taking food pics Literally. Look up “tapas” on Bsky or IG. I’ll wait.

So there is a fake Comic Fury app in the google play store (see pictured). Don't download this, it's not real. The real Comic Fury site is not owned by the developer and there are no microtransactions. Please help Kyo, the real creator and owner of Comic Fury, by reporting its ass.
