RE: ArtCraft I think it's interesting how their website says "Stop renting from websites" while selling subscriptions themselves... I'm all for people exploring alternatives to Adobe, but I'm not sure if ArtCraft is it long term. I'd rather we use + invest in + improve + promote existing […]

@spectra Thank you for your transparency on this, and I've really appreciated my experience with the instance. 50GB is a good amount, in my opinion. I think introducing the caps is also a great way to introduce people to the concept of transcoding their videos before upload. You could include a […]

Pricing-wise: Assuming you're using Stripe for payment processing... #Pretix is still cheaper on platform fees for tickets CAD$25 and under, but #HiEvents beats it out for CAD$30 and over. For CAD$35 and over, though, #Weezevent still wins out, with #TixTree and #TicketTailor closely behind.

A peek into my event platform fee comparison spreadsheet in OnlyOffice.

candide ꘎ media @candide.media · 15/04/2026

I've used #pretix for a few events, and although I really like how feature-rich it is, the UX (both on the backend and public-facing pages) could use some serious design reworking. It was one of the few #FOSS alternatives out there to #Eventbrite and such, so […] [Original post on mastodon.design]

RE: mastodon.design/@candidexmedia/1159… @ernie.tedium.co I'm currently using Listmonk for newsletter (hosted on Railway), but I'm in the process of migrating to Pikapods: either to host Listmonk or Notifuse. Notifuse has the advantage of having built-in automations.

@ernie.tedium.co This is something I've been curious about as well... In the past, I tested out Authorizer.dev for log-in, and was able to "gate" a static page made in #Publii: github.com/authorizerdev/authorizer… The next step is connecting a payment […]

Personally, I've found it challenging that the app was missing a preheader field, RSS-to-email, an in-app way to add additional contact fields, and a text formatting toolbar for the Visual editor. The analytics pages could also use some improvements, and I had some trouble with some of the API […]

That said, using Listmonk has its issues. Despite wanting to support FOSS, it became harder and harder to ignore the things that Listmonk lacks compared to other proprietary competitors. A Reddit thread on r/selfhosted from 2022 did a great job of breaking down some of Listmonk's limitations […]
