I want to find more stuff that people in the horror community like, yknow

Candi (Goodra Era)🦇 @candibat.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Running into an issue this month where I want to watch some horror movies that I haven’t seen, but I’ve seen so many that I’m running into trouble finding stuff to watch.

I can't stop thinking how wrong the tech bros have understood creativity and creators. Or even just having hobbies. #erliart

A gift for @candibat.bsky.social!

A candy corn flavored bat lady raises her staff to summon forth a volley of jack-o-lanterns in a vaguely night/halloween setting

Would’ve turned it off but i haven’t eaten anything but beer in like a day and a half (don’t worry I’m making food now) so i just sort of sat there and took it

I tend to watch film as a collection of small pieces of art that combine into a whole, this way even if a movie is bad I can typically find something to like. I genuinely couldn’t find anything in this movie, it was a genuine slog to get through.

Just watched the previous attempt at a resident evil reboot, welcome to raccoon city, and I gotta say, it was shockingly bad

A while back I played a character who was a mage who did bareknuckle boxing on the side. No cantrips fit the situation? No spell slots left? That’s fine, you always have your fists

You should draw her, if you want. I bet it would make her reallyyyy happy

Obviously a silent hill film shouldn’t be comedic like this. I think that works for RE because those games are goofy as hell (positive), but silent hill is full of very heavy themes and imagery that I feel would be disrespected by the evil dead approach that the RE film takes.

The kind of silent hill movie i’d want would be like this RE movie, adapting the general iconography, tone, feel, but with its own unique characters, plot, monsters

The great thing about silent hill is that each game has its own identity based around the psychology of its main character. This has been ignored in film (and to be fair, many of the games) by people who just really think pyramid head is cool

I wish we could get a silent hill movie with a similar approach to this new RE film. No more ‘direct adaptations’ that don’t understand the source material please

My favourite resident evil protagonist is ethan winters from 7 and 8, mainly because while other player characters are cool action heroes he’s just some fuckin guy who’s having the Worst time, and I appreciate how the main character of this fills a similar niche. He’s playing the game how I do

Usually I get like one sequence that makes me grin ear to ear but like that was the whole movie

Resident evil was soooo good It’s so rare for a movie to come out that is entirely Exactly My Kinda Shit from start to finish
