sidelionreport.com/joey-porter-... quick morning coffee thoughts on the Lions losing out on Joey Porter Jr., especially after seeing the draft compensation he went for:

sidelionreport.com

Joey Porter Jr. trade doesn't feel like any typical miss from Lions, Brad Holmes

The Lions' inability to get Porter shouldn't be seen as a failure.

game was so fun last night. I avoid Sox-Yanks games because there's always some fights on the concourse but the Sox fans I saw were super good sports, were hugging the Yankees fans heckling them and all. awesome environment.

everything Dan Campbell says about Skyler Gill-Howard makes me think he could be a future All-Pro or Pro Bowl DT. Says he plays with, practices with, and sits in meetings with urgency.

This is one of those important, overlooked stories that's hard to report & even harder to place. I'm grateful @prismreports.org understood what's at stake for students fighting these fragmented free speech battles, while they also endure the chaos in higher ed & the nation in general 📻⬇️

Cleveland State University’s recent transfer of its radio station’s broadcast license to a conglomerate is the latest blow to independent student media

Lions play Panthers on Sunday night - will now catch them without their top corners, starting LG, and potentially without Jalen Coker.

Omigod, this is the most heartwarming story possible! Backpack (bear 89) is the son of the 2019 winner of Fat Bear Week, Holly (bear 435). In 2007, he injured his foot & a practice of riding on momma's Holly's back had a new meaning: he was mobility-restricted while it healed. So Holly moved him.

From DISCVR blog's Facebook page, a momma bear & a yearling cub on her back in the shallow water. I think the background has been swapped out, and I can't rule out some AI use there? God, Facebook has become the social media for AI slop : (

The title of the article, which I link below, is "How Bear 89 earned the name Backpack"

the Yankees are going to average like .5 runs allowed and 2 runs scored and it’s going to be a glorious run

Not going to lie, I don’t think poking this particular bear is good strategy for Indiana

oh man…bad defensive breakdown from Caitlin Clark after attempting to draw a call there. must play through that in a must-win game.

the cornell story has me thinking of the several times I had to rescue friends from situations they couldn't rescue themselves from - ushered into side rooms or otherwise "off limit" sections of frat houses, while inebriated, and unable to find their way out of those situations. sickening stuff.

good. for the best. dude is actively trying to hurt himself lol. I think pressure of a potential non-season next year is getting to him but you have to trust this pitching staff to give the roster a shot.
