This is current Covid advice from the NHS. Crazy. Basically saying - if you don't test, you can't test positive, so no matter how sick you are, you don't need to isolate. 🤔

The Demon Haunted World is a masterpiece. And sadly, more important than ever in today's maelstrom of misinformation, conspiracy and superstition.

Some Questions for Channel 4, about their documentary ‘The Great ADHD Myth?’
Channel 4 have announced a new documentary exploring the ‘myth’ of ADHD. There are so many questions they need to answer about this incredibly reckless endeavour.

AI is being sold as a quick fix, but you spend longer checking the answer than it would have taken you to do the research in the first place. It appeals to easily misled people who dislike effort and are seduced by the faux-academic language.

Have we learned nothing? Simple improvements to indoor air quality would have similar public health benefits. But we just let people get sick. Stupid.

#r4today Deeply disappointing to hear discussion of the high and rising flu cases in UK without any mention of precautions such as mask wearing, indoor air filtration and ventilation. Seems nothing was learned from Covid. Stupid.

Neurodivergent people have always been there (we just weren't 'looking' before)
Many believe neurodivergence (autism, ADHD etc.) is 'new'. But it's been around and has shaped society for as long as humans have existed. We just didn't recognise it for what it was.

"Antidepressants are bad!" (Despite the evidence) = Widespread coverage "Smartphones are fine" (According to the evidence) = *crickets* This 'natural good, synthetic bad' approach defines so much of the mainstream, and hurts so many vulnerable people theneuroscienceofeve...
The obvious problem here is that ‘natural is good, artificial is bad’ is a belief that’s much easier to maintain when you don’t depend on external help for your health or wellbeing, which is absolutely the case for far too many vulnerable people.

For as long as thee have been human beings, we have looked around for explanations of the world... Many have based their answers on gods and supernatural thinking, bu other ancient thinkers looked to what they could see and experience to make sense of the world. They thought about ways to live well with other people, and about how to be happy, based on human needs and values. They focused on what could be done while they were alive on earth, rather than imagining another life after they died. Today we call this non-religious approach 'humanist'.
