I do think that at the point you're paying a political consultant $1,000ph you probably have to ask questions about which party such a person is likely to vote for

In one of my first jobs, a client made me cry because I had made a small printing mistake - my manager called the guy up and screamed at him and said if he wanted to treat her staff like that, she didn't want his money.

Bannon in the US and Cummings in the UK have said this was part of their strategy. Liberals/centrists imagine they are the smartest person in the room and the right is happy to let them believe this.

Timewasting and malicious complaints can already be ignored at a certain point. If you're using AI to speed up your grievance, I see no reason why they can't also be rejected more quickly. Especially once it's clear that you're not engaging with a human e.g. long reply sent seconds after an email

Fairly moot since the fatality rate for the driver at *60* is already 90%
116. In England, in 2022, rural roads accounted for 57% of all road deaths, and 68% of car occupant deaths, but only around 43% of vehicle traffic. Of all road deaths in England, in 2022, 27% occurred on national speed limit rural single carriageway roads. The reduction in road casualties and especially deaths on rural roads is one of the principal road safety challenges. Research has assessed the risk of death in collisions at various impact speeds for typical collision types on rural roads. This research suggests that the risk of a driver dying in a head-on collision involving 2 cars travelling at 60mph is around 90%, but that this drops rapidly with speed so that it is around 50% at 48mph (Richards and Cuerden, 2009).

This report from DfT cites research that suggests a head in collision at *60* has a 90% fatality rate for the driver. And that even a limit of 50 puts your odds of surviving at evens: www.gov.uk/government/publications/setting-local-speed-limits/setting-local-speed-limits

A key difference is that with a conscious being you could only forbid the *output* of art. I can write poems in my head, draw comics in my imagination. If an AI can't imagine, there's no ethical dilemma because it will only "create" art when prompted so there's nothing to forbid.

Cameron Holleran @cameronholleran.bsky.social · 19/08/2026
This is not a difficult concept. If I create art that is directly copied from, based on, or inspired by another's art, I am expected to acknowledge and credit this - often with some sort of financial agreement. LLMs do not do this &, indeed, their creators go to great lengths to hide this

From a UK perspective, I can understand the suspicion from the US. Over here, they're fixed boxes that only take a picture if speeding is detected. They make a big flash so you know it's been triggered and anything that's not the car gets blurred out in the photo because of data protection laws.

Panel 1:
British Journalists are relaxing on lilos in the sea. Someone on the shore yells “Hey Guys! An academic got accused of plagiarism”

Panel 2:
One of the journalists sticks out their tongue and says “Pffft. Wake me when there’s a real story”

Panel 3:
Person on shore “He was black”

Panel 4:
The sea explodes as a tidal wave of British Journalists erupt into the air, manic and desperate to report on this now vital for some reason piece of news
