time once again for my annual post: evacuating from hurricanes costs money and resources that a lot of people don’t have and the local governments often don’t adequately provide. evacuating is logistically difficult, sometimes impossible, and is hard to justify when the results are unpredictable.

There was a renoviction near where I lived. Everyone left as soon as they could, but for one older guy who'd lived there for 30+ years and a young guy who felt the older guy was his responsibility as his friend. They finally got moved out. The older guy died within a month. Fuck the landlords.
