Pets are family! It's perfectly normal to grieve over their loss. I lost two of my cats to a house fire and I've legitimately struggled with survivor's guilt over it since. 🫂

I caved and bought the ZAKUs. I just couldn't pass up having Yzak's Slash Phantom and Shiho's Blaze Warrior again. That'll get me back to 3 out of 4 of my old MG ZAKUs. Just missing Meer's pink one, but I keep missing it on Peebs. I also have the Heine Blaze Phantom pre-ordered 😅

I didn't really have a place for this in my main thread, but I have to point out that I am not a perfect viewer. I completely misunderstood something early in MyGO that led me to believe Taki & Umiri were sisters, and I didn't learn until today that Taki's sister is someone else. Oops 😅

Bonus Round: My main ships are Uisaki, Taki x Tomori, Nyamu x Mutsumi x Umiri x Mortis, and Anonsoyo. I don't really ship Raana with anyone, I think she just shows up to everyone else's dates to get attention and love and food. Rico/Uika's "Tch" in Alter Ego does gay things to my brain.

Between the story and the music, I think Ave Mujica has earned a spot among my favorite anime. It's definitely not a story for everyone, but it really hit a sweet spot for me personally. I feel a mixture of excitement and dread over the movie/3rd season, I hope they're good 😅

Maybe you don't vibe with the incest, okay, fine. But arguing the show is portraying Uisaki as an abusive, toxic and manipulative relationship is some Olympic-level mental gymnastics. They're clearly down bad for each other and Sakiko had plenty of chances to walk away from Hatsune if she wanted to.

"Sakiko was rejecting Uika." lol. LMAO. Sorry, I saw this comment the other day and I'm still laughing. This is just rejecting reality because you find them icky. For God's sake, episode 12 is just Saki chosing Hatsune over and over again even as she tries to run away and push her away.

Sakiko remembers the day she spent with Hatsune and her love of the stars when they were kids.

Sakiko rejects her grandfather's orders, expressing her desire to live with Uika/Hatsune.

Sakiko telling Hatsune not to take her determination to be with her lightly, despite Hatsune continuing to express her feelings of not deserving her.

I haven't talked about MyGO's music much, but that's because outside of Haruhikage and Hitoshizuku, the songs didn't really stick with me. I like them, but not to the level of TogeToge or AM. I did love the final episode with Tomori's poetry after a song and leading into the next song, really neat.

I think you see this in the way the show handles Mortis. Because it would have been so easy to go the route of "Mutusmi is crazy, we need to destroy Mortis." But it doesn't, it argues they both deserve to exist. And I like to think they accepted each other and are mutually sharing fronting now.

Now maybe people think that's not healthy, that they need to "fix" their issues the "right" way and go their separate ways. But I think the show is rejecting that idea and showing some of the ways people can overcome their problems and live happily with the support of others. And I love that.

So, I've seen the ending of Ave Mujica called "Bittersweet" or outright bad, and I don't agree? All of these girls are going through it, they have issues & they're struggling. But through the band & the relationships with their bandmates, they're finding happiness & an environment to thrive in.
