it's kinda weird that these buttons don't fit in one row in a 32'' display. The don't seem very useful for a day to day usage either. Why do I need copilot to create an issue? Why do I need copilot to list my pull requests, when there is dedicated page for them already?

screenshot of the github copilot chat in the new github dashboard. The buttons below the chat box take two rows, one extra for just one button.

I went to Canada to photograph orcas, and all I got was a dick pic

A male orca breaching water with his belly up. His reproductive organ clearly visible.

You didn’t ask for it, but here’s two other dogs I met yesterday at the shelter

An old black chihuahua being carried around under my arm like a purse

A small Belgian Malinois with her mouth open and a big tongue out

110

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 11/05/2026

I woke her up just for the occasion. She was taking a nap after playing.

A Belgian Malinois laying down on a pace bed and turning her head to look at the camera

I guess this is a good time to bring this old blog post back: www.kalzumeus.com/2010/06/17/f...

A form with my last name, which includes a blank space between two words because that’s what spanish last names look like, and an error message that says “The last name field allows only letters and the following characters (-) and must begin and end with a letter”

I completely forgot that we hired @rafa.design at Netlify after he slid into my twitter dms almost a decade ago now. ”Maybe I can help” is probably the understatement of the decade.

A screenshot from a twitter dm email notification from @rafa.design to me on May 2, 2016. The message says “Just checking in, love the product, maybe I can help”

I have a really hard time understanding how a website can go downhill so quick that not even the most basic things that have been working for 15 years work anymore

I hadn’t done a dog photoshoot in a while. Our neighbor Nova is a spunky little Australian shepherd pup that cannot stay put for more than 5 seconds.

It was all fun and games until the diarrhea happened

010

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 08/11/2025

Sirius, one of my favorite dogs at the shelter, got a room upgrade. Now he just needs a house upgrade.

Mahogany is an expert birder

000

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 01/11/2025

meet Mahogany, a 1yo pit-mix living at the Placer Animal Services facility. He’s as fun as he’s graceful

This was the welcome committee at the shelter this morning

020

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 20/09/2025

Oh, no, I got puppy fever!

200

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 15/09/2025

Fear not, this is still mostly a dogs account. Here are two impossible friends trying to play tag

020

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/09/2025

And finally, Inara, my go to dog when I need a break from all the other chaos monsters. She’s just f***ing chill.

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/09/2025

Baby dobermans, buy 2, get one free if you can find him

110

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/09/2025

Crayola is a super sweet and snuggy pup. He loves going for walks and being slapped on his big head.

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/09/2025

We also got some baby gators

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/09/2025

Sirius is a super sweet pup that only wants to be with people and go on adventures.

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/09/2025

Every now and then, we get exotic animals. This monkey’s name is Sirius. He prefers a free range live.

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/09/2025

Fayd loves playing fetch. He might, or might not, have a tattoo that says “fetch is life”

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/09/2025

You might remember Fayd because he was here before. Unfortunately, his adopters couldn’t keep up with his 11mo puppy energy and decided to return him. He’s very social with people and pups, but you get what you pay for, an infinite energy machine. Previous entry bsky.app/profile/cala...

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 31/08/2025

This is Benji, my new “shelter project”. He’s a pit-mix puppy with a lot of energy and no self control. He likes to jump on you and play tug, and he’s starting to learn how to walk with a loose leash

010

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 31/08/2025

Harper and Howlyn are the cutest sister pups at the shelter right now. They’re quite shy, but they love each other very much. They’re quite start playing as soon as we get them both outside the kennel.

110

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 19/08/2025

no cheating, post the last pic of your pet

020

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 08/08/2025

These two are Tarzan and Jane. They have their own private suite at the shelter. Jane is such a lady that she needs to wash her paws every time she drinks water. Both of them are available for adoption: www.placer.ca.gov/1912/Adoptab... /cc @weratedogs.com

020

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 08/08/2025

This is Ozzy. He’s the cutest asshole in the shelter. He laid down belly up to let me pet him and proceeded to pee all over himself and me. You should adopt him. petharbor.com/pet.asp?uaid...

Someone is getting ready for Halloween way ahead of schedule

A Dutch shepherd dog, laying down in a mustard yellow background. She’s wearing a purple headband with two purple fluffy balls with wings that resemble bats

110

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 20/07/2025

I finally stopped procrastinating and took a proper picture of this lady

A dutch shepherd dog laying down with her paws crossed, looking at the camera. The background is mustard yellow.

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/07/2025

And finally Molly, who enjoys the pool but just as a way to quickly cool off before going back to her real passion, playing fetch.

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/07/2025

Another video of Fayd. He’s such a happy and fun dog. I might have got a shower from him running around and jumping at me.

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/07/2025

Fayd is new at the shelter. He’s a 9 months old dutch shepherd. By how hard it was to get him in the pool, I’d say this is his first time in one, but he’s a fan for sure.

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/07/2025

A slow-mo video of Eclair, just in case you missed the action in the last one.

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 14/07/2025

I have not done one of these in a while, so here we go. Adoptable dogs at the shelter, waterpool edition! 🧵 Eclair has been there for 5 months, she arrived pregnant and all her puppies have been adopted. She’s super sweet, and loves drinking water straight from the source.

120

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 30/05/2025

Another video of Sherwin being adorable cronching treats

110

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 30/05/2025

This other black puppy, totally different than the previous one, is Sherwin Williams. He’s Duracell’s brother. He likes to jump and climb on places. He’s not as bitey as his brother, but he’ll also take any treats you have

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 30/05/2025

This puppy is Duracell. He likes to jump, and bite things, including you and everything you own. You can tame this beast with some treats.

200

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 30/05/2025

I have some puppy spam for you today. But before puppies, let me introduce you to Deebo, aka Meatball. Let me be very clear about something, I just met him, but I’d die for him.

130

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 23/05/2025

Eclair was found as a stray while still pregnant. She’s a sweet and chill pit-mix. All her pups except one have been adopted already.

010

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 23/05/2025

Naomi, another star student. She’s scared of loud noises, and the shelter is not her favorite place to be. She’s a playful dog once you get her out of that chaos

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 23/05/2025

Ronald is a star student. He came in super shut down, but he’s blossomed in just a few weeks. He’s gaining confidence and loves playing with other dogs

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 23/05/2025

Here another video of Larkin

100

David Calavera @calavera.dev · 23/05/2025

A round of dogs from the Placer animal shelter! 😁🐶 First, puppy Larkin! This sweet German shepherd puppy came with her sister who’s already been adopted. Larkin is playful and super confident
