The last week has been pretty rough. My shower tray is leaking, so that needs repairing. My car tyre got a slice, so went flat when driving home at 2am and the RAC were going to be 3-7 hours to recover me. I’m working my usual rest day this week. And that’s not my worst week of 2026!

After 33 years together, my parents finally got married this weekend, and I was honoured to be the one to walk Mum down the aisle AND be best man. I was very busy and by the end, very drunk. But here’s some photos of Mum and Dad looking gorgeous, with me thrown in because I was there.

I’ve had a really really slow start to my morning. Cup of tea in bed with the dogs cuddling, and Smooth Radio on. Yes, I am middle-aged. But this was the best start to a day I’ve had in a long time.

The UK’s “Exchange for Change” plastic bottle / can recycling deposit scheme is just another tax. Recycling compliance is already relatively high. Recycling bins are required to be provided and collected by councils for all dwellings, and recycling bins are readily available on streets.
