Barn Owls—known for their heart-shaped faces and ghostly silence. 📸 cr: jake_brass
Two barn owls perched on a weathered wooden post during golden hour. One owl stands upright, looking forward with calm focus, while the other owl beside it has one eye closed in a playful wink. Their feathers glow with soft shades of cream, brown, and grey.

UK must impose sanctions on Israel to meet legal obligations, say more than 800 lawyers
Exclusive: Letter to PM signed by retired supreme court justices among others says lack of action will imperil international legal system The UK must impose sanctions on the Israeli government and its ministers and also consider suspending it from the UN to meet its “fundamental international legal obligations”, more than 800 lawyers, academics and retired senior judges, including former supreme court justices, have said. In a letter to the prime minister, they welcome Keir Starmer’s joint statement last week with the leaders of France and Canada warning that they were prepared to take “concrete actions” against Israel. A tiny Goldcrest just popped into your morning scroll! Cute!
A tiny Goldcrest peers curiously from behind a twisting branch, its round black eyes locked on the viewer. A bold streak of yellow and black crowns its head, standing out against its soft olive and buff plumage. One foot clings to the bark, while its wings blur slightly, mid-motion. The blurred background gives a sense of depth, making the Goldcrest’s intense gaze feel all the more direct...like it’s checking in on you mid-scroll!

A plump and round Wren perches on a weathered branch, its tiny claws gripping the rough surface. A pale eyebrow stripe adds contrast to its delicate face, while its short, upturned tail is held at a jaunty angle.

Tonight, the Snow Moon rises. 🌕❄️ Named for February’s deep snows, this full moon was also called the Storm Moon or Ice Moon in Old English, reflecting winter’s cold grip. Look below its glow tonight, and you may spot Regulus...one of the brightest stars in the sky. Moonrise: 17:06*
A luminous full moon hangs in a dark, cloudy night sky. Wisps of mist swirl around it, creating an eerie yet mesmerising effect. The Moon’s cratered surface is sharply defined, glowing bright against the deep shadows of the sky. A still and atmospheric moment, capturing the quiet beauty of the February Snow Moon.
