🟰On this day 16 years ago the Equality Act came into force in Britain. ⚖️ However part of this, the socio-economic duty, which would require public bodies to consider socio-economic inequality, was never brought into force. 1/5

👨‍⚖️ Today is the 58-year anniversary of the UK signing the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights at the United Nations. It took another 8 years to ratify the treaty but was an important first step in the realisation of economic, social and cultural rights. (1/4)
