I am assuming that makeup, hair, and at least some of the cosmetic surgery (surely more than one) is her choice, yes. Why give all that a pass but be confident about her agency ("a ghoul" no less!) otherwise? Also, do you have similar concerns about ppl mocking weird vanity of Trump, Musk, etc.?

Well, they lie! And the oligarchs help, funneling huge amounts of money to disinfo. Prev talk radio, Fox "News", Dark Money. Even to Russia meddling in online spaces. There just isn't anything like it for the left (and for good reason, in many cases). Unfair and so hard to counter. Tough problem.

She got appointed to that seat and so has never really faced a serious state-wide primary. Once in, always ran as incumbent, no real challengers. I don't think voters have had much choice (except to pick whoever runs as R, which wouldn't be better either). It's a shame.

He was my senator and boy do I understand such wishing. It's just all no longer even wish-able. I can wish for her to no longer be in a position of power. How that changes and who takes her place will be someone else, though. (Can't happen soon enough, IMO!)

Gillibrand was appointed to that Senate seat and thus always had benefit of being "incumbent" ever after. Has anybody ever challenged her? Makes it hard to blame the voters when they don't have any choice (except to vote Republican and I wouldn't rather they did that, either).

And in fact Harris did better than many (most? I forget) incumbent parties worldwide. It was anti-incumbent everywhere, switching both directions (right<->left), didn't matter which was in charge. But punditry couldn't bring themselves to see that and instead read it too much as Trump's popularity.

IIRC, anxiety is one of the accepted underlying conditions. I have anxiety (in general) but definitely exacerbated by the possibility of getting covid (not an exaggeration, just adds to my always present reluctance to get out into the world, and I don't need that). So there.

Any man behaving exactly the same way would deserve to be mocked, for that very reason - the power she has and the bubble she creates for Trump. It's a big deal and she shouldn't be given a pass just because she's female - talk about sexism! (The women around Trump get WAY too many passes as it is.)

If it were only some side salacious thing! The thing with Harp is that she seems to be the curator, the gatekeeper, of all he knows. He trusts her in ways he doesn't trust others. It's a crazy powerful position which endangers all of us. I mean, he's beyond stupid, but w/her, even MORE ignorant.
