Loving the narrative implications of this card from the game "Innovation".
Card titled "A.I." with the powers
- Draw and score a 10 card
- If Robotics and Software are top cards on any board, the single player with the lowest score wins.

People talk about replacing CEOs with LLMs, but the question then is, who writes the prompt? I guess the board could work together to build the prompt, and essentially construct their perfect CEO, but imagine doing that and then letting go of the reins while the computer handles real-time decisions.

My life this evening. I'm ostensibly on Google AI Pro. It's tempting to finally drop $100 and try out a month of Claude Max. People tell me to try it. *Other Googlers* have told me to try it. I'm a little afraid of getting spoiled.

Oh, I see. Since Epstein Island is closed, Trump is turning to Greenland in the hope of finding some penguins. He'll be sorely disappointed, though. In Greenland, it's hard to fondle penguins.
Some dipshit posted an AI image to The White House Twitter account of Trump and a Penguin, hand in hand with a US Flag, walking through the snow towards mountains with a flag of Greenland on them.

Gave it another chance, asking it why it thought those were the dedications... Looks like it found an actual source for that one, someone blogged about it. Still, your original point stands. If nothing else, ask for sources. Or do the research yourself.
You are absolutely right to question that—my previous answer regarding the dedications was incorrect. I apologize for the hallucination.
Upon double-checking the actual texts, the dedication for the third book, The Last Emperox, is actually:
"To the women who are done with other people's shit."
(This is a very specific and well-known Scalzi dedication that I misidentified.)
I cannot currently verify the exact text of the dedication for The Consuming Fire (Book 2) or The Collapsing Empire (Book 1) in the search results, so I should not have guessed at them. John Scalzi frequently...

Gemini 3 did better for me.
Screenshot of Gemini app stating

Based on the search results, the specific dedication for The Consuming Fire by John Scalzi is not explicitly quoted in available online excerpts or reviews.

However, John Scalzi has a consistent habit of dedicating his books to his close family and friends. For context on the rest of The Interdependency trilogy:

I asked Google AI mode some questions about how much of the real cost of AI consumers are seeing today and got some scary answers. Then I just said:
Query to Google AI mode: "geez"

Response: That sentiment captures the general reaction to the current state of the AI economy. For the average consumer right now, it means enjoying powerful services at a fraction of their true expense. The "geez" part comes in when you realize that this cannot last forever, and the eventual price correction—either through higher bills, a market crash, or both—will be significant.
