Cool. Just in case you happened to miss them, these remastered editions have tim hunkin sharing some memories of making the episodes. Probably you saw them but some people just stop as soon as they see the credits. :)

For more fun, we might get an automatic check swing system that's been tested in a couple of minor leagues but also probably would be introduced without changing the actual rule--which is subjective but the auto system is an exact angle of the bat (45 degrees past the plate iirc).

An issue, as a rule follower, is that ABS has changed the rule of what a strike is when challenged without changing the rulebook. The book says the zone is the entire plate, a 3d zone, but ABS is a vertical plane at the middle of the plate. But the system to grade umps is the front of the plate!

My brief take (probably wrong) from a couple oblique words in the new trailer yesterday is that Holmes convinces Fielder to go skinny dipping.

Season 9 had some fine episodes, also some poor ones, but all of them had the hallmarks of the coming collapse (as did the latter production half of season 8). I weirdly recall actively disliking this one when first broadcast. I've softened a bit on it since.

I definitely also was told that story, or similar, while taking German. I somewhat assumed it was an urban-ish legend. There's www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti... which retells the story and describes it as "if probably apocryphal". And found this AP(?) story from 1948, unrelated to the war.
Sun Herald·Biloxi, MS 30 Jan 1948. A 'GIFT' IS POISON TO A GERMAN Berlin (AP) A Berliner named Kornfeld got a scare recently when he received parcel from relatives in New York which bore the stamp "gift parcel." He afraid to open it. So he called in a neighbor, who looked at the parcel and immediately offered congratulations. "Congratulations!" Kornfeld exclaimed, "What for? Nice relatives I who sent me 'gift.' I must destroy it quickly." Fortunately, the neighbor knew English- least enough to explain to Kornfeld that though "gift" means poison in Germany it means "present" in English.

I don't really understand this since we have lots of half addresses. But this makes me think both sides are kind of wrong? Like taking over an existing address seems like a really bad faith/aggressive suggestion?
Staff did not adopt what the applicants proposed. The Tillinghasts asked that 3600½ simply become 3600, with the neighbor taking any even number between 3512 and 3598 — they suggested 3520, 3590 or 3598. Instead, staff assigned new numbers to both houses.

Really they should have expanded the football field to match the Melbourne grounds. AFL field sizes change why not NFL. 🙃

One hand forward should be a safety? A kick between the center uprights is two hands pointing forward, just like AFL. A touchdown, which doesn't exist in AFL, remains two arms extended upward. :)

"Running with the Devil" is probably the worst Cage movie I've seen. I also thought Face/Off for a 9 but then the scene with the kid wearing earphones is remarkably cute. Kick-Ass or The Wicker Man.

This is a possibility but honestly I think the correct solution is to use the James Bond name and get a director that's very good at making quick, good, and low budget action movies done. And make a ton, like the original novels. Oceans 11 but Bond, maybe.
