Great movie. It wasn’t shelved because it is bad, it was shelved because it used a cartoon character to explore the relationship between corporations and consumers and how corporations can exploit consumers and turn around and blame the consumers for the exploitation.

THE SCARLET BALL, my dark fantasy novel due out on OCT 6, is set in an 1890 that never existed. During the 1890s, dip pens were still king, but the modern fountain pen was beginning to appear. This, I suspect, is a Beekman fountain pen from the late 1890s.

Watched that Backrooms motion picture last night. Very good. Obsession was also excellent. If this is the kind of cinema the crazy kids today with their hula hoops and fax machines are giving us, I’m not going to yell at them to get off my lawn, I will instead welcome them with lemonade and cookies.

Lots of discussions about punishments. Some I understand, stripping the team of the titles , others not so much. Mentioned dropping them another league? I watched the film Damned United (great movie) there were plot points about teams moving up down leagues. Didn’t get it then, didn’t get it now.

I met with Unifor & IAM workers today to talk about the federal government’s plan to privatize Canada’s airports. The international record is clear. Privatization has not delivered better service, lower costs or stronger workers’ rights. Our airports should serve Canadians, not corporate profits.
