You will not be surprised to know that this is a complete fiction. Here's data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In the last two months, it's true there has been a 4% drop in the price of urban car insurance, but the price remains massively inflated compared to pre-COVID.

The data shows average insurance prices were $500/year in 2016, rose to around $560 a year from 2018 through 2021, then beginning in 2022, began rising dramatically. Prices reached a peak of roughly $900 a year at the start of 2025 and remained that way through May, when they finally experience a small drop to $860.
