Experiments in the continuing effort to combine my long-term interest (and business) in tie dye, with my more recent interest in leather work, specifically journal covers because boy howdy do I love a notebook that is pretty to look at and pleasing to touch. So far none of these are winning.

Fun experience tonight: in a restaurant with friends, was approached by a very familiar-looking woman who reminded me excitedly that I taught her to knit, like 17 or 18 years ago. It's especially gratifying because teaching knitting was my favorite job.

Latest addition to "weird/cool things in my house": a Bluetooth speaker for the kitchen, built into a previously non-functional Fender amp.

TFW you find a charm and make a whole cover to go with it, and then discover you already had matching contents. Leather cover dyed with shaving cream, leather dye, fountain pen ink, and painted with acrylic paints and glitter. Hand sewn, with pen sleeves, a handmade sketchbook and a nice journal.

I've had to unfriend a few fans lately, all for the same reason. They made ridiculing, unkind, and in some cases outright cruel comments about pictures I posted of young women cosplaying Jessica.
More than a person, Jessica is a state of mind. To play Jessica, you need self -confidence, a sense of humor, and a Jessican -attitude-. There is no such thing as a Jessica cosplayer being too short, too flat chested, too heavy, too thin, too unattractive, too black, too Asian, or even too male!!! Getting ready for a project in a couple days for which I need a variety of cats. The black one is from my #the100dayproject, the orange one is new. What other classic cat poses do I need? Sitting up like an Egyptian statue, arched and hissy - jumping to catch something?

Apparently I am this many years old: I sat down and made my emergency contact a phone list. After watching the friend group spring into action for a loved one, I encourage you to do the same. It's not necessarily an "if I die" list, it's also a "I can't be there to figure this out for you" list.

A sheet of notepaper titled "who to text if things go pear-shaped" with categories of Family, Friends who will start the local support train, Friends who will start the further support train and/or want/need to be updated, Next ring out, Further. At the bottom there is a further note "my phone passcode is" and instructions about how to locate other passwords. All the actual info is blurred out.
