The new Belbury Poly album, Sorcery, looks to the 80s instead of the 70s. With Christopher Budd joining on fretless bass (and more) and a name-check of Japan in the promo copy, "Crawlspace" can be heard as homage to Mick Karn

I've been talking about getting this on a license plate frame for so long that my wife got me one for my birthday!
A red license plate frame with text in white caps reading:

Richard Ayoade's outfits on Taskmaster Season 22 are impeccable, with his studio ensemble of Episode 4 the best so far. He's my new fashion inspiration (for those rare occasions when I actually go somewhere and it matters how I look)
Richard Ayoade seated in the Taskmaster studio, wearing wide-legged olive trousers, a dusty light green blouson, a green, gold, and navy scarf, dusty rose socks, and tricolored chukka boots

Just watched Mazes and Monsters (1982) which, as a D&D scare movie, can't be anything but cheesy, but the downtempo psychedelic jazz-funk that plays as Tom Hanks is wandering in a daze around dirty New York City is sheer perfection

My unsolicited Star Trek opinion is that when Data got his emotion chip he should have acted like a human with no ability to control their emotions: a baby. And it should have taken at least ten years to get them under control.
