I really do appreciate these Ghibli movie re-releases have little sections where Miyazaki talks about his inspirations for the film and his travels. It's really nice to see another artist talk about how cities/countries and their history can influence someone's work.

after finishing drawing out this concept, i realize that i truly do not know if regular WD cores also act as their conscious. solver cores are already pretty different on their own with their tentacle appendages and flesh covering. #murderdrones

For the millionth time, they're just pilot/military themed outfits. Nazis did not invent armbands. The disassembly drones goals are not driven by the same motives. A company that has been funded by the Australian government would not be selling cutesy merch of characters in nazi outfits.
