It comes across as a bit rude to me because I think it's fun to watch the final blow, and then I don't get the chance (though I still get the win). But then I thought, maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way, and it's considered polite to concede if you know you're going to lose?

Meet Jacques "Scrappy" Larocque. He found me in Dollarama this morning and insisted I take him home. Bearing a ferocious eye scar from past battles, I knew he meant business and would likely pick a fight with the local crows on a whim. I remember reading this letter when it was posted. I actually brought it up to a younger friend of mine just this week. The concept of "I respect you too much to sugarcoat the truth in my art for your immediate comfort" is a concept that's really stuck with me, and I notice it in other media.
