I'm going to keep sharing these until I make my fortune. (So, forever, then).
A close-up of a drawing of some black and yellow fur / scales. We've zoomed out a bit, now seeing an abdomen and furry thorax. We've zoomed out even more. It looks a bit like a wasp, with a black and yellow body and bright orange antennae, but something's off.Ah, it was a moth all along. A moth in disguise.

This is a black-and-white macro photo of a hoverfly captured in mid-air.

The insect is sharply in focus against a smooth, blurred background, giving the image a minimalist and almost surreal feel. Its large compound eye dominates the head, appearing dark and glossy, while fine details of its segmented body and delicate legs are visible. The wings are either moving too fast to be clearly seen or positioned in a way that makes them nearly invisible, enhancing the sense of motion.

The lighting highlights the insect’s contours, giving it a slightly metallic sheen.

Most Ichneumonid wasps (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) are parasitoids that lay their eggs inside other insects. The larvae hatch and slowly eat their hosts alive. Eventually the larvae burst out of their hosts, killing them. Many species are very useful for pest control. Palmyra Michigan, 13 May 2016.

On dark green leaves rests what appears to be a butterfly—actually a moth. Its wings are black and spangled with brilliant red and white dots. Iridescent blue lights its abdomen and central wing surfaces. Its head and thorax are black dotted by white. Its spectacular appearance signals that it’s toxic. As a caterpillar, it fed on Devil’s Potato. 💀
