IMO there’s some truth to this, closer-to-core European migrant communities did generally move farther out. Racist white families would tend to accurately communicate about racist urban migration patterns!

49 Up was the first instalment I saw, at Cinematheque in my mid-20s, I was captivated. I wonder what it would be like to watch the latest and last without any context, but I found it moving, intensely resonant. Great that it has space for (limited) self-reflexion

I'm pro trans, pro morphological freedom, and don't care about things being "unnatural." That's not why I oppose transhumanism, which is a modern Christian ideology. It's not transhumanists supporting gender affirming care in Alberta, it's a nehiyaw community with multigender tradition.

I love this thread. A thing that always comes up when I work with students is the importance of understanding and defining the terms of your research question. What do we want to grow? Who should efficiency serve? Whose time matters? How do we shore up trust? Who gets included in "we?"
